“Suffer the little children to come unto me” -Jesus
Shining Light Children’s Home (SLCH) is located in Tecate, Mexico, which is just south of San Diego, California. Our goal is to reach out to the vast needs of the children in the Baja California area, a region badly infested with drug trafficking and violence.
SLCH was started in 2004 by several individuals who had been reaching out to persons in needy situations in the area. SLCH is under the supervision and management of Osceola Christian Fellowship in Texas. Osceola Christian Fellowship has agreed to oversee the work and provide infrastructure for others to get involved and make a difference.
SLCH, serves orphans and needy children by working closely with DIF, the Mexican government agency responsible for social services. The children at SLCH may be there for one month or many years, depending on the child’s family member’s willingness to be involved. It is our belief that God has placed children in families for a reason and that children belong to their family. We always cooperate with returning a child to their parent(s) or family members. This decision is made by the DIF
